Our mission: To be the most trusted technology partner to funeral directors in the UK
The Funeral Manager story
Funeral Manager was developed by John Wilde in the early 1990s to help better serve their funeral director customers. By deeply understanding their needs, frustrations and ways of working, they created a solution that quickly caught on through word of mouth and recommendation. For 30 years, it evolved to support a wide variety of funeral businesses across the UK – constantly shaped by real-world feedback.
In 2020, the software entered a new chapter. A partnership formed between John Wilde and a group of like-minded professionals with deep experience in software, operations, and funeral services. Together, they rebuilt Funeral Manager from the ground up – keeping the best of what worked and replacing what didn’t. The result: a modern, flexible, intuitive platform that stays true to the values funeral directors care about.
In 2025, the current family-run management team completed a buyout of the business, ensuring continuity and sharpening focus on the future. Today, Funeral Manager is making a huge difference for funeral directors across the UK and continues to evolve in partnership with the people who use it.
